The Bonajuto or Salvaterello chapel is a Byzantine religious building of Catania, built between the sixth and ninth centuries AD One of the few surviving buildings of Byzantine times in Catania, the chapel is located inside the baroque palace Bonajuto in via Bonajuto 7, in the popular district of Catania Civita. It has a Greek cross with a square plan, a dome and three apses («cellae trichorae» or «clover church») in a form similar to the Byzantine cuba in Sicily. Today, compared to the street level, it is located underground of about 2 meters.
