The house is the writer's final dwelling place and since 1962 has been home to the Institute of Pirandello's Studies and Italian Contemporary Theatre, which is responsible for the upkeep and conservation of the Library and archive preserved here and available for consultation. The house also contains many other archived works and the writer's own library, as well as his Nobel Prize plaque, paintings by his son Fausto Pirandello and the writer's uniform of the Reale Accademia d'Italia and other personal effects.
