it is situated near Fianello Castle, over the remains of a rustic Roman villa. Dating back to the early Middle Ages and displaying different stages in construction, the church gained considerable importance in the 14th century. Its construction was certified in the 1345 Registry of Churches belonging to the Diocese of Sabina. The Romanesque Crypt is of particular interest as it is divided into three small naves with groin vaults that are constructed from recycled material taken from the Roman era. An archeological study was conducted in the 1950s on the Roman villa that lies underneath the church. The excavation works brought to light some very interesting items, which are now on display in the National Roman Museum.
