Built in the second century after Christ, the Torre Casieri of Canosa di Puglia is a typical example of nut tombs. Externally the sepulchral monument is covered with bricks and consists of three overlapping bodies, in particular a base, a central body and a small cylindrical drum. Inside there is a rectangular sepulchral chamber, surmounted by a concrete barrel vault that has two semicircular niches. The structure is part of the necropolis area of Via San Paolo, a site that is located along the axis of the ancient Via Traiana.
