The Palazzo Sylos-Calò di Bitonto rises in the Renaissance heart of Bitonto. It was built in 1529, probably by a Tuscan architect, as can be seen from the large portico resting on eight columns, with basements and capitals all different from each other, recalling the elegance and harmony of the Florentine style of the fifteenth century. The complex is formed by three nuclei that embrace a quadrangular arcaded courtyard. The large loggia on the first floor, which overlooks Piazza Cavour, is a testament to the Apulian Renaissance works. Restored in 1989, it is currently home to the National Gallery of Puglia, Girolamo and Rosaria Devanna.
