The Gypsotheque of the Norman Swabian Castle of Bari is set up in some rooms of the manor and houses a large collection of casts taken from the most famous monuments of Puglia, created for the regional pavilion of the Ethnographic Exhibition of Rome in 1911. The casts were made by the sculptors Pasquale Duretti and Mario Sabatelli, with the help of expert artisan trainers. In the plaster cast gallery you can admire brackets, capitals, sculptural fragments and other architectural and ornamental details taken from the major monuments of the region from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century. Furthermore, a multimedia path includes some films made by the Central Institute for Catalog and Documentation, which reconstruct the cultural climate of the 1911 Exhibition.
