In the historic center of Ceglie Messapica, Palazzo Allegretti is home to the Municipal Art Gallery "Emilio Notte", near the fourteenth-century Piazza Vecchia. The rich art collection includes works by various contemporary authors and, in particular, the canvases of the futurist painter Emilio Notte, born in Ceglie in 1891 and died in Naples in 1982. Among the others we highlight the «Piazza mercatale di Prato» ( 1916), the «Zodiaco» (1929) and the «Triptych of the Crucifixion» (1972). The master joined Futurism in 1916 and the following year he signed the Futurist Theoretical Manifesto with Lucio Venna and, in 1918, the Anti-Spatial Manifesto. The headquarters of the Palazzo Allegretti museum welcomes visitors with the gentle stone façade of Ceglie and the two large portals surmounted by the coats of arms of the Allegretti and Cenci families.
