The Capitular Museum of Sacred Art in Gravina in Puglia has its headquarters in the sixteenth century Palazzo del Seminario, in Piazza Benedetto thirteenth. However, this is a widespread museum, which also includes sites of historical and artistic interest in the city. The museum collection consists of works of sacred art dating from the eleventh to the twentieth century, arranged in three rooms according to the type. In the Sala dei paramenti you can admire masterpieces embroidered with Baroque motifs alternating with Renaissance and classical decorations. The Silver Room contains chalices and reliquaries from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century, including the effigy of San Filippo Neri and the Stauroteca, the protagonist of the procession of the Holy Wood every Good Friday. Finally, the Pinacoteca and parchment room is a treasure chest of precious ancient documents, including the parchment of 1091 by Umfrido d'Altavilla Conte di Gravina. Among the paintings is the seventeenth-century canvas "St. Ignatius of Antioch and St. Bibiana" by Francesco Fracanzano.
