  Open House Roma

The 1954 Legacoop National Headquarters, a building nicknamed "the Roman twins", appears as an exceptional object: the butterfly plant is composed of two trapezoids connected to each other by a rectangle. The articulated volume but collected in itself and hostile to the alignment with neighboring houses, the grain of the bricks mediates the contrast between the reinforced concrete framework and the infill walls, finally the shape of the living room, the staircase and the other rooms, recall the attention to the precise taste not lacking in subtle intelligence. The building was built by Cairepro, a carrier of the Italian design and construction tradition for over seventy years, strongly connected with the rationalism and the language of the territories and communities.
