In November 1944, a brigade of over 5000 men landed in Taranto, among the troops destined for the VIII English army. Their banner bore a symbol that everyone knew: the six-pointed yellow star of the Jewish people. The soldiers were all Jews. In fact, the number of Jews enrolled in the British army was much higher: about 31,000. The exhibition The Jewish Brigade in Italy and the Liberation (1943-1945) offers an opportunity for discussion on a little-known historical theme: the participation of thousands of Jewish soldiers in the war against Nazi-Fascism, with an in-depth look at the history of the Jewish Brigade and the auxiliary corps serving in the Italian countryside. Opening Monday, April 8 at 18 at the Spazio Contemporaneo Carlo Talamucci, Via Dante 6, Sesto San Giovanni As part of the exhibition, on April 11 at 21, is scheduled the historical conference "Fighting to change fate: history of the Jewish Brigade".
