  Notes of art in Lombardy

In the center of the ancient village rises the basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and San Sigismondo, dating back to 1030. It is a Romanesque church still considered an example of the most significant and interesting of Lombard art of the Middle Ages, even if very little of what we admire is original. Even the pronaos, in front of the entrance portal, was rebuilt in 1906. The main apse, a true architectural marvel, is authentic. The façade is gabled and the church plan is divided into three naves. The imposing tower campanaria dates back to the twelfth century and was subsequently remodeled several times.
