  Notes of art in Lombardy

Built between the middle and the end of the fifteenth century thanks to a conspicuous donation bestowed to the Augustinian Friars for that purpose, the former Convent of S. Agostino is now home to the Civic Museum of Crema and Cremasco. The convent structure is structured around the two Renaissance cloisters placed in succession and very similar to each other. Rectangular in shape, they are crossed by a portico with ogival arches on octagonal brick pillars and cross vaults. Beyond the southern cloister, there is the old refectory that surprises for the great richness of the decorative apparatus in strong contrast with the rigor and the formal cleaning of the cloisters.
