Castel Wolfsthurn or Castel Mareta is a Baroque-style castle located on a hill above Mareta (Mareit), a town in the Alto Adige area of Racines. The castle has 365 windows. The origins of the castle are obscure. After 1200, in place of the castle there was a defensive tower, which the Counts of Tirolo acquired in 1242 and gave to Rudolfus Lupus as a fief. The name of the castle derives from Lupus-Wolf, in fact Wolf in German means "wolf". In 1574 the property passed to the Grebmer family and about 200 years later to the Sternbach family of Brunico, to which the castle still belongs today.
