  Streets of Rome

We are in the area of Pigneto whose streets are dedicated to the leaders and captains of fortune. So this way is also named after a soldier who, in 1416, began his military career fighting alongside Braccio da Montone. After a brief period at the service of the Republic of Florence, he served Filippo Maria Visconti, Duke of Milan, for whom, together with Niccolò Fortebraccio, he fought against the league formed by Pope Eugenio The Forth, the Republic of Venice and Florence. He tried in vain for fortune, or to claim his own land, between Umbria and Tuscany after his death was buried in the Duomo of Milan.
