Statilia Messalina was a Roman noblewoman and empress, the third wife of Emperor Nero. In 65 the husband was forced to commit suicide by the emperor Nero, both because he was accused of having participated in a conspiracy against him, and because the prince wanted his wife. In the same year, Nero's pregnant wife, Poppea Sabina, died, and the emperor married Statilia the following year. On June 9, 68, Statilia went away from the Imperial palace and on that same day Nero died.
