  Streets of Rome

The Dolphins were a Roman family that for many years, in 1500, had here the residence. It seems that some of the dolphins are buried in the nearby church of Santa Maria in Araceli. Their crest depicted two golden dolphins in the blue field, and above the two crossed tails there was a red rose. In This street was born and lived a roman poet playwright known between the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of 900, Giggi Zanazzo. Great scholar of the traditions of the Roman people and poet in roman dialect, is considered, together with Francesco Sabatini, the founding father of romance. At his school moved the first steps Trilussa and the most beautiful names of the dialect poetry of early-century Rome.
