A section of the ancient « via Paolina », so called because it was built by the will of Paul the Third Farnese, later changed the toponym in Via dei due Macelli, due to two outlets of meat (one of which belongs to Duke Mattei) that were located here, where the meat was slaughtered and sold until Lion The Twelfth had built, in 1825, the slaughterhouse outside Porta del Popolo.
