  Streets of Rome

It takes its name from the nearby Teatro Alibert, owned by the homonymous family and also known as the Teatro delle Dame.  In its heyday, in the eighteenth century, the Teatro delle Dame and its rival, the Teatro Capranica, were the most important opera houses in Rome and have seen many world premieres made by some of the most important singers of the time. It was destroyed permanently by a fire in 1863. Later an inn known as the Locanda Alibert was built in its place. In the early years of 2000 the building of the Locanda Alibert has been completely renovated and transformed into a centre for congresses and various events.
