  Streets of Rome

Via del Pellegrino was named, originally, « Via Florea » (as mentioned on the tombstone in Latin located in Via dei Balestrari) and then « via degli Orefici », for the shops of goldsmiths who were there. It took the current name from a tavern called « Del Pellegrino », because the way, being on the direction of St. Peter coming from Campo de’ Fiori, was continuously traveled by pilgrims: someone claims that it took the name directly from the pilgrims that traveled it.
