  Streets of Rome

Opened in 1880 to connect Largo di Torre Argentina with the Ponte Garibaldi reminds in the name « rena », the river sand that the Tiber deposits during its floods, keeping away at this point the houses that usually overlook the river. In those areas were formed, especially during the periods of lean, real beaches, which constituted the first and oldest « lido » of the Romans. Through Via dei Giubbonari so called for the craftsmen and merchants of « gipponi », or weavers of bodices, we arrive at Campo dei Fiori.
