Santa Cecilia for the musicians

Cecilia, born of a noble family in Rome, married the noble Valeriano. It is said that the day of the wedding in the house of Cecilia resounded organs and happy songs. From this particular was taken the pride of protector of the musicians. Confided her vow to his husband, he converted to Catholicism and on the first night of his wedding he received the Baptism at the hands of the Urban Pontiff Primo. Returned to his home, Valeriano saw Cecilia prostrate in prayer with a young man: he was the Angel who always watched over her. The judge had forbidden, among other things, to bury the corpses of the Christians, but Valeriano and his brother dedicated themselves to the burial of all the poor bodies they met along their way. They were arrested and rather than denying God, they were beheaded. Cecilia prayed on the grave of her husband, her brother-in-law and Massimo but shortly after she was called before the judge who ordered her death by beheading, the executioner vibrated the three legal strikes and, not yet death, he left her in his blood. It was Pope Urbano the First who made it a worthy burial in the catacombs of San Callisto.
