It is one of the most famous chefs of 1800, author of several cookbooks. He first served in Naples at the residence of Michele Imperiali, Prince of Francavilla and Marquis of Oria. In 1772 he was called to Rome at the Cardinal De Bernis, who at that time held the role of French ambassador to the Holy See at Villa Bonaparte. He later traveled extensively for Europe following the army of King Louis Fifteenth and later became a personal cook of general Ivan Ivanovich Shuvalov, who fought in Austria, then followed him to St. Petersburg. In 1783 he then shifted to the service of the Empress Caterina second, but, suffering the extreme cold of Russia, decided to come back to Italy.
