At only 19 years old, in 1860, he married a nobleman from Ravenna, Giacomo Lovatelli and at the same age began to study archaeology with the main Roman experts. Despite his relative amateurism, he became a member of the Accademy of Lynxes, the first woman to cross the threshold of that historic institution. He obtained numerous other Italian and international academic titles. They attended her house, Palazzo Caetani Lovatelli, several literati and scholars, including Gabriele D'Annunzio and Joshua Carducci.
