In Via Magna Grecia, at the crossroads with Via Veio, the first film studios in Italy existed: they were those of the CINES, it was the Thirties and a director had just introduced the sound into Italian cinema: it was Alessandro Blasetti, born in Rome on July 3 , 1900. He was an Italian director, screenwriter and editor, one of the most famous and significant of his time, so much so that he could be called « founding father of modern Italian cinema ». It is considered, together with Mario Camerini , the greatest Italian director of fascist propaganda cinema: « Sole » of 1929, his debut film, is an epic exaltation of the reclamation of the regime and was very much appreciated by Benito Mussolini; « Vecchia guardia » of 1935 is an apology of the march on Rome. After the war, Blasetti launched two successful couple of Italian cinema: Vittorio De Sica with Gina Lollobrìgida, later consecrated by Luigi Comencini in « Pane, Amore e Fantasia », and Sophìa Lòren with Marcello Mastroianni, destined for to be cyclical in the following decades.
