The two are the protagonists not only of a nice walk to the Pincio, but they are emblem of the neoclassical reconstruction of the Roman 800. Valadier interprets and realizes the eighteenth century need that wants to reorganize the important access to the city and for this is today considered one of the greatest urban planners of its time and first modern architect. Son of the goldsmith Luigi Valadier, he devoted himself to the study of architecture in precocious age: he won only thirteen years the first prize of second class of architecture in the contests of 1775 banished from the Accademia di San Luca, in whose schools he would have more later taught practical architecture. Upon the death of his father, he had to complete and merge the present Bell of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. He had a very intense and prolific activity of works and projects.
