  Famous people of Rome

When Camillo Borghese was elected Pope in 605 under the name of Paul Fifth, he undertook the construction of a villa in the Pincio park. The project began in 607 and in March 6 , works of the important collection collected by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul Fifth, they were moved in. Paul Fifth plays an important role in Roman patronage: Carlo Maderno was responsible for the modification of the Basilica of San Pietro and the construction of Palazzo Pallavicini Rospigliosi. Flaminio Ponzio enlarges the Quirinale Palace and restructures the adjacent square. The buildings wanted by this pope were a gret number: the Fontanone of Gianicolo, the Cento Prei s Fontana in Piazza Trilussa, the Corinthian column and the Pauline Chapel in Santa Maria Maggiore, where they are the remains of Paul Fifth. In 1616 the scientist Galileo Galilei was summoned to Rome: Received with all the honors, he was actually severely cautioned for supporting them with Copernicus eliocentriste theses during the years of the Inquisition. On April 12 ,1633, the trial of Galileo Galilei started and ended with the condemnation of heresy and the abjuration of astronomical conceptions.
