It is the book and film « Ho Voglia di Te » that inaugurates the teenagers in love tradition of closing a " promise of great love " lock, here on Ponte Mivio. The film gets a huge success with the public. Riccardo Scamarcio becomes the idol of Italian teenagers, in one of the most famous scenes of the film, the protagonist couple wrote their names on hanging it to Ponte Milvio in Rome, then throwing the key in the Tiber, as a symbol and promise of an eternal love. Since that moment, Ponte Milvio has become a destination for all couples of lovers who come in Rome, to put their own lock and throw the key into the river. For this reason the bridge is renamed the bridge of lovers. During the years, the fashion for the padlock "degli innamoràti" takes root all over Italy and also in many other parts of the world, from Spain to France, from the bridges of Paris to Brùklin. Federico Moccia is a writer, director and screenwriter become famous for his "adolescent" romances of love.
