It is in the schools of Via Taranto that grew Marcello Mastroianni, born in Fontana Liri on September 28, 1924. He was among the most popular Italian interpreters and appreciated abroad in the Sixties and seventies, especially for the starring roles in the films of Federico Fellini and for films recited in tandem with Sophia Lòren. Able to juggle both dramatic and comical roles, it is generally accompanied by the « monstres » of the Italian comedy Alberto Sordi, Ugo Tognazzi, Vittorio Gassman and Nino Manfredi. He was three times Oscar nomination for Best Actor: for « Divorzio all’Italiana » (1963), for « A spécial day », (1978) and for « Oci Ciornie » (1988).
